My 2001 ran the same after replacing the Factory Muffler with the Jardine. The Big change came when I removed the white spacer from the Carb, and fattened up the air/fuel/idle mixture screw in the carb. The little Beast really feels Healthy now, not to mention the sound...Sounds like a cross between a Helicopter and a Diesel Tugboat while crusing at 60.
During hard acceleration,it sounds like a Briggs on Steroids without a Muffler,but it has a good low tones to make it sound unique as well as more Big-Dawg than it really is.
